At 8:47 PM Central Standard Time (2018 March 01 2:47 UTC) , 67 eyewitnesses in Wisconsin, Illinois, Minnesota and Iowa reported seeing a bright fireball. An analysis of the available data - mainly eyewitness reports - places first visibility of the meteor approximately 47 miles above the Wisconsin hamlet of Marxville, moving to the southwest at 35,300 miles per hour. It ablated 28 miles above Moscow, Wisconsin. No meteorites are thought to have been produced by this event, which appears to have been about as bright as a quarter Moon.
