Over 50 eyewitnesses in Nevada, Utah, California, New Mexico, and Arizona reported seeing a bright fireball at 8:53 PM Pacific Daylight Time (2018 June 13 3:53 UTC). A quick analysis of their accounts indicates that the meteor hit the atmosphere above the small Nevada town of Alamo, at a speed of 49,000 miles per hour. Moving west of south, it managed to penetrate to an altitude of 24 miles before fragmenting above Saddle Mountain.
