A fireball was observed by over 50 eyewitnesses in the states of North and South Carolina at 9:01 PM Eastern Standard Time (2019 February 27 2:01 UTC). Analysis of the reports show that the meteor appeared 45 miles above the North Carolina town of Morven, moving to the southeast at 55,000 miles per hour. The object travelled 35 miles through the atmosphere before ablating at an altitude of 23 miles above Blenheim, in South Carolina.
