Many eyewitnesses in the northeastern states have filed reports on the American Meteor Society website of a bright fireball seen over the state of Maine on July 30, 2021 at 11:14 pm Eastern Daylight Time (2021 July 31 3:14 UTC). Analysis of these reports combined with video from an EarthCam located at Lake George, NY allows us to estimate that the meteor first became visible 53 miles above Exeter, Maine, moving north of west at 50,000 miles per hour. It fragmented 34 miles above Flagstaff Lake, managing to travel 55 miles though Earth's atmosphere before meeting its demise.
