Event: 20211115-234136

There are many reports from people in the southeastern states of a fireball, which occurred the night of November 15th, 2021 at 6:42 PM Eastern Standard Time (2021 November 15 23:42 UTC). It was detected by all NASA cameras in the area, so we have a good trajectory and orbit; it is definitely not space junk, despite recent news reports of an anti-satellite test. An asteroidal fragment a few inches in diameter began to burn up 47 miles above the small town of Harrison, in middle east Georgia. Descending at a fairly steep angle of 65 degrees from the horizontal and moving south of east at 30,200 miles per hour, it managed to travel 27 miles through the atmosphere before disintegrating 22 miles above some farmland east of Oaky Grove Church. Peak brightness was approximately 2 times greater than that of a quarter Moon.
