Many eyewitnesses in southern California and Arizona are reporting a bright fireball, seen at 8:10 PM Pacific Standard Time on Wednesday, November 24, 2021 (2021 November 25 04:10 UTC). An analysis of their accounts shows that the meteor was first sighted at an altitude of 49 miles above the Pacific Ocean, just to the west of San Miguel Island. It moved northeast at 35,000 miles per hour, managing to travel over 100 miles through the upper atmosphere before disintegrating 29 miles above the Bitter Creek National Wildlife Refuge.
