Many eyewitnesses in the states of Arizona and Nevada have reported the sighting of a daylight fireball, which occurred on November 6, 2022 at 11:47 AM Mountain Standard Time (2022 November 6 18:47 UTC). An analysis of their accounts, folding in constraints from a couple of videos of the meteor, indicates that it first became visible 53 miles above a point west of Grand Canyon Junction. Moving to the northwest at 51,000 miles per hour, it covered a distance of 31 miles before disintegrating at an altitude of 34 miles. The Geostationary Lightning Mappers onboard the GOES-16 and GOES-17 satellites also detected the event.
Unfortunately, the currently available data are not sufficiently precise to determine whether this fireball was a member of the ongoing Taurid meteor shower.
