Many (~150) eyewitnesses in the states of Texas and Oklahoma have filed reports of a bright fireball seen on January 10, 2023 at 6:46 pm Central Standard Time (2023 January 11 00:46 UTC). An analysis of their accounts – constrained by data from EarthCams located in San Jacinto and Southlake City – indicates that the meteor was first seen at an altitude of 48 miles above Leander Texas, moving to the northeast at 29,000 miles per hour. It disintegrated 27 miles above Youngsport, after traveling 48 miles through the atmosphere.
