There are nearly 100 eyewitness accounts of a bright fireball seen February 6, 2023 at 6:57 PM Central Standard Time (2023 February 7 00:57 UTC) by people located in the states of Arkansas, Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Missouri, Mississippi, Kansas, Tennessee and Alabama. An analysis of these reports, constrained by data from 2 publicly accessible cameras in the region, places first visibility of the meteor at an altitude of 48 miles above River Mountain, on the west side of the city of Little Rock. It moved slightly north of west at 30,000 miles per hour, travelling 27 miles through the atmosphere before fragmenting 27 miles above the western shore of Lake Maumelle. At this time, there is no data suggesting that this fireball produced meteorites on the ground.
