Multiple eyewitnesses in Texas and the surrounding states reported seeing a bright fireball on December 9th at 6:42 PM CST (10 December 2025 00:42 UTC). An analysis of eyewitness accounts, compiled by the American Meteor Society, combined with data from publicly accessible cameras in the region helped to characterize this meteor, which was first seen at an altitude of 57 miles above Newlin, Texas. Moving west at 70,000 miles per hour, the object traveled roughly 67 miles before it disintegrated 40 miles above Tule Creek, just east of Tulia, Texas. This fireball was not a member of any active meteor shower and did not produce any meteorites on the ground.
We thank the American Meteor Society for providing the eyewitness reports.
